DATE AND PLACE
The walk is on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

The in-person walk will take place at Begich Middle School in East Anchorage, Alaska , 7440 Creekside Center Drive. Registration opens at 10:00am. All walkers must check-in at the registration tent and sign a waiver. The opening ceremony will begin at 10:30am and the walk will begin immediately following the ceremony. Late arrivals are welcome to join the course at any time.

Virtual walkers are invited to attend the livestream of the opening ceremony at 10:30am. The livestream will be available on our Facebook home page Juanita Strong Forever Project.

REGISTRATION
All walkers must register online to participate.  Walkers are asked to raise funds for Juanita Strong Forever Project, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit in Anchorage, AK and Uvalde Victims Relief Fund. Who actively supports the families of the Robb Elementary School victims whose love ones are being treated at University Health, in San Antonio, Texas. Online registration closes on June 24 at midnight. On-site registration is available on the day of the event.

All registered walkers will receive a commemorative Walk for Life t-shirt. T-shirts for in-person walkers can be picked up at the registration tent.  T-shirts for virtual walkers will be mailed approximately one week before the event.  Please register early to ensure that your t-shirt arrives on time.

ROUTE
The in-person walk route will take place on the track located in the back end of the build of Begich Middle School. The route consists of 12.5 laps around the track for a total of 5K. The route is suitable for walkers of all abilities. Walkers are welcome to complete as many laps as they feel comfortable.  Virtual walkers can choose their own route and distance.

PARKING
Free parking is available in the front and back parking lots at Begich Middle School.

FINISH, FOOD, AND FUN
There will be an on-site refreshments table with water. Drinks will be available to walkers as they complete each lap. Following the walk there will be a community block party “Breathing Life and Bridging the Gap” with vendors, food trucks, local law enforcement, entertainment, kid-friendly activities and extinguish guest. Bring the whole family and help raise awareness.
